My Fifth Falmouth in the Fall

I ran my fifth Falmouth in the Fall a week and a half ago with Billy as my running buddy. We shaved about 10 minutes off our August time, finishing the race in 1:16. I was thinking back to my first Falmouth in the Fall 10 years ago with Casey when there were about 500 runners because it grown so much since then; this year the maximum number of approved runners was 1,500. Fun fact: Billy and I both wore the same shirt (you can see the green of Billy's Jingle Jog shirt underneath his service center shirt).

Halloween around the Monument

Charlestown is the ultimate spot for Halloween. We celebrated there last year for the first time and it was so much fun we decided to spend the holiday there again. This year it fell on a Friday which made it easier to expand our contingent, spreading to include Mum and Dad, Suzanne, Savannah, Mags, and Luke. People also all wore costumes this year, a key difference from last year when William and I were the only ones other than the kids who dressed up. Stephanie was the hostess with the mostess, going all out with festive decorations. To top it all off, Dad sang the Halloween song to the kids for the 4th year in a row, marking a special tradition that we love to look back on through the years.

Christopher's and Costumes

A couple of weeks ago Mum and Dad were in town for a Bruins game and took the opportunity to watch Mardo and Ouiser play soccer, go out to breakfast at Christopher's, and select some costumes from the archives in the attic for a Christmas party down the Cape. Mardo and Ouiser were thrilled to see them arrive at Super Soccer Stars on Saturday, running over to give huge hugs. We love when Nan and G visit!

Boston, Off Broadway, and a Bird

A couple of weeks ago Stephanie and I went to see Hamilton in Boston and stopped at the Fed, a cocktail bar in the Langham Hotel, for a martini and a burger beforehand (extra dirty for Stephanie and with a twist for me).  During this time I learned that "Dear Theodosia" is not an acceptable memo to put in a Zelle transfer to pay Stephanie for my ticket. The following weekend I continued to learn, discovering that there are nail salons that play the NFL and that I'm brave enough to deal with a dead bird in the house. Having learned the latter I hope God never tests me in this way again.
