Bunker Hill Day is a big deal in Charlestown and there's an annual parade that everyone comes out for. Stephanie invited us to come over for the occasion and we all made it, taking the opportunity to celebrate Father's Day as well. It was a great time and Stephanie was thrilled to have us all over as she loves to host. Celebrating freedom is also increasingly important these days, so a win-win.

Town Day
I was really looking forward to Town Day this year, thinking the activities would be right up Mardo and Ouiser's alley. Some aspects were big hits (like the vehicle & equipment display, goats, and bounce house) and I have notes on others (the main one being that if the pancake breakfast is scheduled from 8 to 11, it's really unfortunate to run out of pancakes at 10:15). Hopefully we can go again next year and get there early enough to fully enjoy the pancake breakfast.
Rhodies & White Caps
The weekend after Memorial Day we had one main goal in mind and unfortunately this goal was not achieved. Why, you ask? Well, because our mission was to drive the boat from Bosun's in East Falmouth to the slip in Great Pond and on the day we tried to do it, the conditions were far too rough which we didn't appreciate until we were in the channel and saw the waves with our own eyes. We didn't know it until later, but the ferries weren't even running and here we were trying to take a 24 foot boat out in the open seas! At least we got to go for a boat ride through Waquoit, which was nice despite the white caps, and enjoy the beauty of the rhododendrons back at home.

Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend had some of the usual activities (Commissioning, brush day, presentations of our summer goals) and some new ones (investigating cidadas, navigating a home mid-renovation). Everyone's goals this year were excellent, and my favorite were Mardo and Ouiser's as presented by Casey (swim! sleep! snacks!). I can confirm our summer ended up with plenty of all three.
